Testing for entry and exit in Mexico:

  • It is not necessary to have a COVID-19 test to enter Mexico via air travel from the United States.
  • Air passengers traveling to the United States, including U.S. citizens and fully vaccinated people, are required to take a viral test (PCR/NAAT or antigen test for current infection) no more than three calendar days prior to their flight departure to the United States. Antibody tests are not compliant with the requirement. Antigen Testing will be available at the hotel at no cost for U.S. Citizens. More information will be provided, as we get closer to travel.  PCR testing will also be available at the hotel for a cost of $140.00 USD if that is preferred.

  • Social distancing among travelers in the checkpoint line and among TSA officers with visual reminders of appropriate spacing on checkpoint floors, and opening more checkpoint lanes, where possible, to reduce time spent in line.
  • ID verification without physical contact between the TSA officer and the traveler.
    • Travelers should keep possession of their boarding pass, place it on the document scanner and show the boarding pass to the TSA officer for visual inspection.
  • Reduced physical contact with the implementation of phased installation of acrylic barriers at various points throughout the checkpoint area
  • Increased frequency and intensity of cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched checkpoint surfaces, including security screening equipment and bins
  • All TSA officers are required to wear masks and gloves at the checkpoint, and they may be wearing eye protection or clear plastic face shields.
  • TSA officers changing gloves after each pat down and at the request of any passenger.
  • As a temporary exemption from the 3-1-1- rule, TSA is allowing one liquid hand sanitizer container, up to 12 ounces per passenger, that will be screened separately.  All other liquids, gels and aerosols in carry-on bags are limited to 3.4 ounces that must fit in a one quart-sized bag.
