May I extend my stay?

Based on availability, you may extend your stay at the Hotel Xcaret Arte. NOTE:  the hotel does not have availability on the pre dates. Please indicate your preferred departure date on your registration form if you would like to extend your stay. The cost for an extended stay at the hotel is $768.00 per night, inclusive of taxes and fees, and based on double occupancy. In addition to the extra nights at the hotel, you will also be responsible for any increase in airfare due to your deviation.

Is Hotel Xcaret Arte all-inclusive?

Hotel Xcaret Arte is all-inclusive for food and beverage and also includes the park activities, transportation and workshops.  Some additional expenses for the specialty restaurant Xaak, special activity options, and spa are your responsibility.

What kind of identification do I need for travel to Riviera Maya, Mexico?

You are required to present a passport that is valid within six months of your scheduled return date when traveling between the U.S. and Mexico. Please contact program headquarters should you need further assistance.  Please see the Health & Safety page for COVID-19 travel requirements.

What should I wear?

Daytime: Casual sportswear or swimwear is appropriate for your selected activities. Beach/pool or casual attire is appropriate on free time around the hotel.

Evening: Specialty restaurants require semi-formal dress.

Chino Poblano; Encanta; and Xaak semi-formal: polo shirt/ buttoned shirt, long pants, closed shoes.  NOTE: Xaak requires reservations and has a surcharge of $120.00 USD per person for dining.  

The remaining restaurants are casual: pants, dress shorts, sundresses and capris  (no bathing suit, beach sandals, or sleeveless shirts).

Riviera Maya is in the Eastern Time Zone and does not observe daylight saving time.  In November, when it is noon in Riviera Maya, it is 9:00 a.m. in Los Angeles, 10:00 a.m. in Denver, 11:00 a.m. in Chicago and 12:00 noon in New York.

The standard voltage in Mexico is 120 V and the standard frequency is 60 Hz, same as the continental United States. 

What is the currency in Mexico?

Mexico uses Pesos for their currency.  As of July 19, 2021, $1.00 USD equals 20.06 Mexican Pesos. The US dollar is widely accepted in most larger tourist areas.  Mastercard, Visa and American Express are usually accepted.
