Safety Measures for Guests of the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel

  • The Fairmont El San Juan Hotel requires that each guest present a COVID-19 vaccination card or show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to checking in. 
  • There are designated entrances to the hotel, stationed with security guards to observe the hotel's COVID-19 protocols.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be at high-traffic areas.
  • There will be increased cleaning and sanitizing of surfaces in public spaces.
  • There are aggressive cleaning protocols between guest stays, including continued use of EPA-registered disinfecting chemicals, proven effective in preventing the transmission of COVID-19, and enhanced focus on disinfection of all guestroom touchpoints.
  • Hotel check-in and checkout will take place at the front desk, which is equipped with Plexiglas barriers.
  • Maid service is provided daily at the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel. If you don’t want housekeeping to enter your room, turn on “Do Not Disturb”. You can call to have fresh towels delivered to your room, but you must have “Do Not Disturb” off to receive any deliveries.
  • The number of people in elevators will be limited (4 people maximum).
  • Seating at events (meals, meetings, etc.) will be adjusted for social distancing.
  • Presentation of food and beverage services has been modified.
  • All health and safety guidelines required by the local health department at the time of program operation will be adhered to and enforced.

Meeting Etiquette for Attendees 

  • Don’t travel if you’re feeling ill, and inform Program Headquarters if you won’t be attending.
  • Avoid hugging, handshaking, etc.
  • Maintain appropriate distancing.
  • Bring your own face coverings (mask and/or shield) and wear them in public spaces.
  • Have a travel-sized hand sanitizer and packet of tissues with you at all times.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water frequently throughout the day.
  • Sneeze or cough into your arm when in public spaces.
  • Sanitize your cell phone daily.
  • If you’re on-site and not feeling well, return to your room and alert the hotel front desk immediately.
  • If you become sick within 14 days after attending the meeting and are diagnosed positive for COVID-19, please inform Program Headquarters.
